How to Donate: Form & Details
The following are dietetic programs and internships in the state of Texas. Click on the programs to see the Texas schools offering that program.
Coordinated Programs
Programs are typically 2 years in length and combine the major course work for a degree in nutrition and/or dietetics with the supervised practice hours for eligibility to become a registered dietitian upon graduation. No additional internship is needed.
Didactic Programs
Bachelor Degree – typical 4 years in length leading to the completion of a degree in nutrition and/or dietetics. An additional internship is needed after graduation for eligibility for becoming a registered dietitian.
Dietetic Internships
Full time Non-Degree- typically 6-10 months in length, consisting of the supervised practice hours required for becoming a registered dietitian. Must have completed a Commission on Dietetics Education (CADE) approved degree program for eligibility.
Full Time Degree - Typically 6-10 months in length, consisting of the supervised practice hours required for becoming a registered dietitian. Must have completed a Commission on Dietetics Education (CADE) approved degree program for eligibility. Offered in conjunction with graduate degree course work.
Dietetic Technician Programs
Approximately 2 years in length leading to an associates of science degree.

Due to recent changes in faculty, the Dietetic Internship at Stephen F. Austin State University is currently INACTIVE for the 2011-2012 academic year. When the program returns to active status information will again be posted on this website.
Stephen F. Austin State University is located approximately midway between Houston and Dallas in the beautiful pineywoods of deep East Texas. Since 1993, the supervised practice program has provided a positive impact on health delivery in this rural geographic region by increasing the number of eligible graduates to meet the wide variety of job opportunities for registered dietitians in East Texas.
