ETDDA Scholarship Fund.

The East Texas District Dietetic Association has a long tradition of funding scholarships to assist students in East Texas. Each year the association has donated $2000 from the operating budget to help students.

In addition to helping students, the scholarship donations have established ETDDA as a leader among the district associations in the state. During the fall of 2001, ETDDA members set a goal of establishing a permanent endowed scholarship fund. Once an endowed scholarship fund is established, an annual award of $500 can be given to a deserving student for every $10,000 held in the fund.

At our recent Spring Seminar we reached our initial goal of $10,000. There are only six other districts in Texas that have accomplished this goal. We are now beginning Phase II to raise an additional $10,000 which will allow us to provide an annual award of $1,000.
